I pledge my loyalty to my Passion.
A day away spent in the caves
She sat with a pen as if to write on the waves.
Four walls of a classroom couldn't contain her wild imaginations;
A country far so beautiful, full of people embracing with no distortions.
But Momma called and drove her back to the family pledge,
“A doctor you must be, there way too many sick children in Africa!”
Save thy people, child!
Became the new pledge to anthem
A dream they never saw, it was their unfulfilled dream, it was their dream
to save them.
Was it to be forgotten, divorced, deprived of its God given right to
live?
Was it to wait eight years?
Oh just bait a minute-Wait yet another four years ?
Just because the system dictated so, then it had to leave
Probably return later when everyone had chance to believe
She sat there dreamy
With a wonder feel so creamy
If only someone would believe this blooming lily,
The talent in her wouldn’t have to fade off really,
But neither the system, its makers, nor Momma believed in it keenly.
So she vowed to let it lie low sleepy.
Maybe when she finally got her identity freely
She would defy the odds and put her talent into show without feeling
guilty.
Without giving a Sh*t so silly
Because when the gift inside of her turns from a silent worm in a cocoon
dreamy
Not even the hen that pecks the butterfly will keep her down so easily
She will fly so high and your teary eyes will stare against the sun with
a shy
But No!
Momma still want her a doctor!
Poppa just paid another premium to keep the order
A doctor she must be even if to fake it, to keep the family name.
Maybe she should just take the four medical years to please and fame
Maybe when she flies to Australia,
She will flee from this malaria,
Wave goodbye to this familiar
And never return to this people-pleasing fanatica
So she stands on a rock so dark
With the hands spread apart
Screaming at the top of her whack!
I shall not give my baby to you
It’s my passion!
I will keep my talent in fashion
And not give your whims to action
Watch me-
Action my passion and spread!
